Experimental comparison of a geothermal rainwater tank and other ground-coupled heat exchanger technologies for passive cooling
Geothermal rainwater tanks are new hybrid solutions for passive cooling of building and water resources management. They consist of a buried rainwater tank and an immersed coiled heat exchanger that harvest shallow geothermal energy. This communication presents the experimental study of a full-scale prototype of geothermal rainwater tank and exhibits promising result. Then a literature comparison with other passive technologies validates the system’s viability in terms of performance.
