My research is focused on the influence of interfaces, surfaces and point or extended defects on the thermal properties of materials in nanoscales (superlattices, thin films, nanowires, nanotubes, phononic crystals, nanocomposites). I am working mainly with atomistic modelling and simulations tools and I study thermal, mechanical and thermoelectric properties and phenomena at the nanoscale, which is related to the openquestions of the energy and heat dissipation in nanostructures. Furthermore, I am working on the effect of the amorphous phase impact on the thermal properties of nanostructures and phononic crystals combining crystalline and amorphous phases. Solid/liquid interfaces and interactions at the nanoscale have also attracted my interest recently.

Recherche dans le domaine de la physique de l'incendie et plus particulièrement dans le comportement au feu des matériaux ainsi que dans la propagation d'incendie dans la forêt et aux interfaces habitat-forêt.
